If you wanna hear "one of those voices" (George Green - New Voices of Freedom), and like the romantic, sensual or groove-oriented music of Sade, Dido, Jamie Cullum, Corrinne Bailey Rae, Natasha Bedington, Alicia Keyes, Swing Out Sister, Luther Vandross, Toni Braxton, Angela Bofill, Diana Krall, Quiet Storm (WBLS NYC), CD101.9 (NYC), and smooth r&b/jazz/pop in general, you're in the right place.
Ria is an accomplished songwriter and singer, whose credits include having 22 songs published by Warner-Chapell Music; receiving NYC airplay for her songs, "take me," "Every Day You're Mine Is Valentine's Day," and "Can I Bring You Flowers?"; teaching Jimmy Stewart the kickline routine for a benefit at Radio City Music Hall; and being left-handed. (:). (Ria is a recent Georgetown Law grad too, but let's stay right-brain for now!) This year, new fans from the UK, Japan, Germany, Spain, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Nebraska, Arkansas, Washington, DC and Virginia have purchased Ria's music.
Fans and reviewers of Ria's "take me" CD have said...
"Ria Curley has her own take on smooth jazz and R&B with a retro-pop sensibility... [a]nd an amazing voice... Curley has a remarkable instrument, it soars, twirls and spins like a gymnast and she always lands on her feet... (David Malachowski, Kingston Daily Freeman)
Ria "caresses the microphone..." with her "curvaceous coloratura..." (Russ Tarby, Syracuse New Times)
Ria "dabbles in seductive, rappy lyrics and toys with our modern hip-hop stereotypes... we want more..." (Sandi Hemmerlein, The Colgate Scene)
"I bought it yesterday and I've playing it ever since..." (Fan)
Hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed writing, singing and playing this music... more to come soon...
