Ria Curley Music & Art: Biography

Singer/songwriter, RIA CURLEY, began her musical career as the teenage bandleader of six musical siblings performing her original songs and delighting patrons at Ross’s Restaurant in Oneida, New York.

Ria's creative experiences to date have included... having 22 of her songs (music and lyrics) published by WARNER-CHAPPELL MUSIC; receiving New York City airplay on CD101.9 & WBLS with her smooth r&b/jazz CD, "RIA" "Take Me” (currently selling internationally on iTunes,,, etc.); being interviewed as a guest artist on WBLS' "QUIET STORM" with The Whispers & Vaughn Harper; singing background for Patti Austin on the JOAN RIVERS SHOW; acting and singing in soap operas, TV commercials and jingles, including the Guiding Light, Loving, 1-800-FLOWERS, Ford, Roy Rogers & Hardees; earning a credit as Associate Executive Producer on a Grammy-nominated Frank Sinatra CD compilation; and even teaching JIMMY STEWART the kick line finale for the "Night of 100 Stars" finale at RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL.

After graduating from Colgate University, Ria moved to New York City, where she performed her original songs and created a large following at music clubs in Manhattan (e.g. The Bitter End, China Club, etc.) for over a decade. During that time, Ria received airplay on major New York City radio stations and was a featured artist at a major CD 101.9 concert at the Meadowlands Racetrack across the river in New Jersey.

In 2002, Ria took a small detour and obtained her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. In Saratoga Springs, Ria is an attorney by day and singer/songwriter by night, performing jazz standards, r&b, and her own original songs… and pleasing crowds at the Saratoga Arts Festival, the Songwriter’s Showcase at Gaffney’s, the Riverfront Studios Fine Art Show, the Circus Cafe, the Grey Gelding, Tisnow, the Inn At Saratoga, Morrissey’s, and the Batcheller Bowl Fundraiser for the Giving Circle. In Saratoga, Ria was also a featured artist on the acclaimed “Saratoga Pie” CD, produced by Grammy-winner Joel Moss and Charlie Eble to benefit local charities. Ria is presently working on a new album of original tunes to be released in 2013. In her free time, Ria dreams of singing a duet with Michael McDonald and riding around on the back of a giant sea turtle in the Galapagos Islands. For more information or for booking, please contact
